Content Operations Manager

Responsibilities

    • Supporting the Content Solutions Manager_ SENAP, overseeing the organization of E2E workflow and personnel schedules in the most efficient manner relative to cost, time, and accuracy; providing prioritization guidance of workload assignments.
    • Manage team members' performance including one-on-ones, quarterly check-ins, and annual review.  Reward/provide feedback and coach/counsel staff.
    • Maintain workload requirements and inform manager and staff of changes to deadlines.
    • Ensuring high standards of metadata accuracy and consistency within the content database.
    • Implementing and maintaining quality assurance processes.
    • Resolve and direct linear/nonlinear discrepancies reported by clients.
    • Devise and implement ideas and procedures to improve quality and productivity.
    • Collaborate with the entire content team to build resources, establish processes, and define research best practices.
    • Liaising with other departments or clients regarding metadata needs.
    • As metadata coverage expectations expand, identify areas for efficiency gains in metadata production and implement new tools or methodologies to enhance productivity based on deep understanding of metadata standards and best practices.
    • Setting goals and KPIs for the teams in Content Solutions.
    • Aligning team objectives with broader organizational goals.
    • Execute integration & project activities based on the manager's direction.
    • Coordinate training for new staff members or refresh the skill sets of the ingest team.
    • Maintain the content ingest operations knowledge database ensuring that all Content Solutions documentation is kept up to date and that any changes to software, process, or standards are documented.
    • Facilitating professional development opportunities to develop careers.
    • Perform Ingest/Enrichment tasks when required.

Requirements and Skills

    • Candidate must be proficient in reading/understanding/writing in Japanese and English.
    • 3+ years of team management work experience.
    • Experience in working with global stakeholders and clients.
    • Ready to work in a 24/7 operation, including evening, night and weekend shifts.
    • Proven record of delivering quality results on time. 
    • Uses logic to analyze data and capability to draw conclusions and communicate or provide advice or consultation to people managers and process owners.
    • The ability to communicate clearly, concisely and effectively both verbally and in written communication.
    • Maintain composure and respond appropriately in stressful or crisis situations.
    • Ability to effectively build consensus within the team and among disparate stakeholders.
    • Capability to evaluate process performance within an organization and to make recommendations for improvements. 
    • The role is remote, so you must manage and operate the seamless ingest workflow without any issues on a daily basis. Please note that you need to join onsite meetings on a regular basis or if/whenever necessary.
