Job Summary
The Software Development Manager – Nextech PM is responsible for leading and managing software development efforts focused on Medical Practice Management. This role oversees a team of high-performing software engineers, ensuring the delivery of robust, scalable solutions aligned with best practices. Reporting to the VP of Software Development, the Software Development Manager plays a pivotal role in evaluating project scope, assessing feasibility and driving technical execution while fostering innovation and efficiency.

Essential Functions

    • Leadership and Team Management:
    • Lead and manage the development of software solutions in a SCRUM environment utilizing C#, Angular, SQL implemented following modern web architecture and patterns for performance, supportability, scalability and maintainability
    • Lead and mentor software engineers to ensure team and career growth as well as productivity.
    • Work with the team and Product Management to set priorities and drive process improvements within the software engineering department.
    • Software Development Excellence:
    • Advocate and implement best practices, including Code Reviews, Unit Testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
    • Work with the engineers in the team and Nextech Architects to design solutions for complex systems, ensuring alignment with industry and organizational standards.
    • Conduct hands-on technical leadership that might include testing, coding, and reviewing team members’ work.
    • Create an environment of full ownership, where the team works with DevSecOps to fully know and understands the infrastructure that hosts their solutions and implement and monitor the right levels of alerts and drive towards delivering IaC with the goal of continue to improve CI/CD and reach 0 downtime deployments.
    • Project and Stakeholder Management:
    • Evaluate upcoming work and assess the scope and feasibility of projects, ensuring timely completion.
    • Collaborate with product managers to write high-quality requirements and date projections, keeping the business aware of changes.
    • Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, often balancing competing priorities.
    • Customer-Focused Solutions:
    • Resolve issues keeping customers always top of mind and ensuring compliance with industry best practices.
    • Maintain a deep understanding of Nextech’s products and technologies to deliver effective solutions.
    • Additional Responsibilities:
    • Drive organizational improvements across the software team.
    • Lead and coordinate projects independently, ensuring alignment with business needs.

Minimum Requirements

    • Experience with C#, MS SQL, Angular or similar
    • Minimum of 10+ years of industry experience, including developing robust, scalable microservices.
    • Proven experience delivering a product to market using Agile methodologies.
    • Proven experience as a lead, coach, or supervisor, providing feedback and guidance to a team of engineers.
    • Ability to foster collaboration and maintain constructive dialogue within the team and across cross-functional teams.
    • Familiarity with healthcare regulatory frameworks such as HIPAA, FHIR, CCDA, eCQMs, and standards like SDOH and USCDI.
    • Strong technical, analytical, and communication skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

    • Recent experience with the Microsoft tech stack.
    • Familiarity with Revenue Cycle Management and Medical Practice Management Solutions
    • Experience with Git, GitHub, and Jira.
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, including Azure DevOps.
    • Knowledge of healthcare regulatory standards, including Meaningful Use and the Cures Act.

Working Environment/Physical Demands

    • Fully Remote
