Investment Execution

About Crux

We make clean energy finance more efficient and interconnected.

Energy demand is rising for the first time in decades, driving an urgent need for more infrastructure to deliver affordable and reliable electricity. New infrastructure requires strong and secure domestic supply chains for minerals and components, as well as large amounts of capital. Connecting to the necessary financing at each stage of a project lifecycle can present challenges for developers and manufacturers, however.

Crux is the capital markets platform changing the way clean energy and manufacturing projects are financed in the U.S. For every type of financing that is conducted on the platform, Crux provides liquidity, efficiency, and intelligence - including market-leading price indices and reports. Crux runs the leading transferable tax credit platform.

We have expanded our platform to help all of our partners - developers & manufacturers, banks & advisors, and corporate tax teams - transact in debt, tax equity, and preferred equity investments. In our 2024 Market Intelligence Report, we found that ~30% of transfers are from tax equity structures. These markets are increasingly intertwined. We are leaning further into our support for tax equity alongside transferability.

Our team of 30+ is composed of experts in energy, financial markets, government, marketplaces, and workflow software. We have raised ~$27 million from some of the best investors, including Andreessen Horowitz, Lowercarbon Capital, New System Ventures, Overture, Ardent Venture Partners, QED, Canapi, and others. These funds are joined by strategic investors including Pattern Energy, Clearway Energy, EDF Renewables, Intersect Power, LS Power, Orsted, Hartree Partners, and others who collectively generate billions of dollars of tax credits annually.
