So, what’s the role?
As our Financial Systems Manager - Workday, you’ll lead the implementation and management of Workday Financials, ensuring our finance and accounting teams have the tools they need to operate seamlessly. From deployment to optimization, you’ll be the go-to expert for all things Workday, driving strategy, integrations, and ongoing improvements.
A day in the life could include:
Leading the end-to-end client-side implementation of Workday Financials, including planning, configuration, testing, and deployment across modules like suppliers, banking & settlement, financial accounting, customers, certification, procurement, expense, and accounting center/prism. Serving as a key project lead in areas such as client-side project management, testing, change management, and integration.
Serving as the primary administrator for Workday Financials, Workiva, and other financial systems, managing system configurations, security roles, ongoing maintenance, and additional module implementations. Partnering with the HRIS Workday manager to align with the company’s broader Workday strategy.
Partnering with Finance, IT, Engineering, and BI teams to optimize financial workflows, improve reporting capabilities, and enhance system integrations across business units.
Ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and security within Workday through regular audits, reconciliations, and governance best practices.
Acting as the subject matter expert for Workday integrations, managing connections with internal and external systems such as policy administration systems, claims administration systems, banking partners, and third-party vendors.
Developing and maintaining Workday financial reports, dashboards, and analytics to provide leadership with real-time insights and support strategic decision-making.
Providing training, documentation, and support to end users to drive adoption and maximize efficiency within Workday and other financial systems.
Collaborating with Workday consultants, internal stakeholders, and third-party vendors to implement system updates, resolve issues, and drive enhancements.
Ensuring compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and regulatory guidelines, aligning financial system processes with company policies.
Staying up to date on Workday releases, best practices, and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvements and efficiencies across financial systems.
I’ve got the skills… but do I have the necessary ones?
3+ years of experience leading large-scale, transformational projects.
5+ years working within a Workday environment, with hands-on experience in Prism and Accounting Center.
Experience with SQL and other programming languages.
A strategic thinker who thrives on problem-solving and bringing order to complexity.
A hands-on leader who embraces technology and digs into the details.
Strong decision-making, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills.
Adaptability—things move fast here, and we need someone who embraces change.
A self-starter who can learn quickly and take initiative.
Previous experience in the Property & Causality space is a plus
