Job Description

The Manager, Finance oversees the financial planning and analysis processes and requirements across businesses supported. Provides financial guidance in compliance with financial policies, prepares management analysis of actual vs. benchmark results, provides business decision support and leads key projects and initiatives to improve financial processes. The Finance Manager interacts with all levels of finance and business management. Provides required planning deliverables to meet AbbVie Corporate FP&A requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Partners with the Commercial finance planning teams to facilitate continuous improvement efforts towards the planning, forecasting and long-range plan.
  • Partners with project team with commercial requirements gathering, technical design, development, User acceptance testing, and cutover of an enterprise planning solution.
  • Takes responsibility of root cause analysis and process improvement.  Requires strong understanding of the Commercial Operations planning and consolidation process as well as requirements for management reporting.
  • Troubleshoots load rules, Business Rules, and Calculation Scripts.
  • Continuously and proactively improves the environment to enrich experience by contributing to training documentation and support for end users.
  • Develops, maintains, and improves documentation on key business processes and procedures in compliance with Internal control policies.
  • Promotes automation of processes with current and future application flows. 
  • Facilitates integration of SAP BPC planning, including sourcing actuals, reconciling and data analytics.  
  • Partners with BTS to install technical patches, upgrades, and system/application migrations.
  • Acts as BPC subject matter expert for the entire organization by recommending and seeking out fellow BPC SME for common resolution and best practice recommendations for the enterprise.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required.
  • CPA or MBA a plus.
  • Minimum 7+ years of progressive and related experience.
  • Strong expertise in commercial finance for a large pharmaceutical company is required.
  • Experience supporting financial planning applications.
  • Experience with administration and/or implementation of SAP BPC preferred.
  • Strong Analytical and technical skills to continuously improve processes.
  • Understanding /Acumen of Finance with strong knowledge in planning, forecasting, accounting close process.
  • Ability to understand the needs of the various business teams to appropriately plan for growth and change.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, including innovative and creative solutions.
