H.E. Callahan Construction Co. is seeking a Director of Operations to be based in Auburn, ME. The ideal candidate will combine strong commercial construction expertise with a passion for developing talent and maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
Requirements of the Director of Operations:
- 5-8 years as a proven leader in Commercial Construction
- Bachelor of Science in Construction Management preferred
- Proven experience as a commercial construction superintendent
- Track record of delivering projects with high client satisfaction
- Demonstrated ability to develop field staff and nurture talent
- Strong commitment to workplace safety
- OSHA 30 certification (preferred)
- Experience implementing training programs
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple departments
- Ability to commute to Auburn, ME Monday through Friday.
- Frequent business travel (minimal overnight stays)
Benefits of the Job:
- Pay in the range of $75,000 to $100,000 depending on experience.

Responsibilities of the Director of Operations:
- Oversee all field operations for commercial construction projects
- Develop and implement strategies to nurture talent through on-the-job training, external education, and our NCCER program
- Manage our comprehensive Safety Program as our designated Safety Officer
- Collaborate with project management and estimating teams to ensure successful project outcomes
- Mentor superintendents and field staff to enhance their skills and career growth
- Develop a pathway to promote growth within the field
- Establish and maintainhigh standards for project execution and client satisfaction
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies
