VP of R&D

About the Role
We’re seeking a visionary VP of R&D to shape and scale our global engineering organization of 50+ talented engineers distributed across the US, EMEA, and APAC. Reporting to our Chief Product Officer, you’ll define the technical and people strategy for our cloud-native SaaS products, champion best practices in distributed engineering, and ensure our solutions continue to set industry standards. As a key member of our senior leadership, your impact will be felt across product roadmaps, strategic planning, and day-to-day innovation cycles.

Location
Our Vice President of R&D will be an integral member of our engineering department, leading our global R&D department and will set the strategic direction of the department. This role is based fully remotely in Israel.

The Opportunity
In the dynamic and ever-evolving public cloud ecosystem, speed and innovation are critical. As our VP of R&D you will be our strategic leader, responsible for the overall engineering vision and direction, you will lead our distributed and growing Engineering organization through its next phase of growth with a focus on delivering high-quality software solutions that drive customer success. Reporting directly to our Chief Product Officer, you will foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and agility, ensuring our engineering efforts align with strategic goals and customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of our technology stack, business objectives, and customers' needs.
  • Define and communicate the engineering strategy, ensuring alignment with overall company vision and objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Oversee the development and delivery of scalable, secure, and reliable software solutions that meet market demands and agreed upon deadlines. 
  • Implement and refine processes to enhance productivity, quality, and agility.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management and other cross-functional teams to prioritize and deliver features that bring value to customers.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, leveraging metrics and data to make informed decisions.
  • Partner with Client Services and other departments to ensure seamless integration of products and services.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 10 years in a leadership role at B2B SaaS companies.
  • Extensive experience with cloud-native technologies and public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Proven track record of leading distributed teams and delivering complex software projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong technical acumen, with a background in software development, architecture, and systems design.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and guide teams through change.
  • Experience driving operational excellence, including implementing robust engineering practices and processes.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure cost optimization and FinOps principles is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
