TelePathologist Assistant

Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled TelePathologist Assistant to support remote pathology operations. The successful candidate will assist in gross examination, clinical history review, specimen processing, and documentation, playing a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of pathological evaluations.

As a TelePathologist Assistant, you will play an essential role in supporting remote pathology services, contributing to timely and accurate diagnoses that directly impact patient care. Key Responsibilities:

    • Gross Examination: Perform gross descriptions of human surgical specimens with accuracy and adherence to established protocols.
    • Clinical History Review: Obtain and document appropriate clinical histories to provide context for surgical specimen evaluation.
    • Specimen Processing: Process surgical specimens efficiently to maintain workflow and meet diagnostic timelines.
    • Histological Sectioning: Use sound judgment to select appropriate tissue sections for histological processing, ensuring optimal diagnostic outcomes.
    • Work Method Development: Assist in establishing new work methods and procedures to improve laboratory operations and efficiency.
    • Training & Orientation: Provide guidance and training new employees, ensuring their successful integration into pathology workflows.
    • Clerical & Documentation Tasks: Perform clerical and computer-related documentation accurately, maintaining meticulous records and ensuring compliance with quality standards.

    • Attention to Detail: Demonstrates precision in specimen processing, documentation, and histologic sectioning.
    • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in gross examination and tissue sectioning, with a strong understanding of pathology lab protocols.
    • Judgment: Exhibits good judgment in selecting appropriate tissue sections for processing and when adapting to unique specimen requirements.
    • Adaptability: Assists in establishing new methods and procedures, showing flexibility and initiative in a dynamic work environment.
    • Collaboration: Works effectively with pathologists, peers, and trainees, contributing to a cohesive and efficient team.
    • Communication Skills: Clear and professional communication in documenting clinical histories and providing training.
    • Clerical Skills: Accurate handling of documentation and computer-related tasks, ensuring data integrity

Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., biology, medical laboratory sciences) or equivalent experience in pathology laboratory work.
    • Experience in gross examination and tissue processing is preferred.
    • Proficiency in pathology-related software and documentation systems.
    • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and compliance with established policies and procedures
