About the Role

As Sr. Product & Commercial Counsel, you'll have a broad range of responsibilities across legal, contractual, and regulatory obligations. In this highly cross-functional role, you’ll be deeply involved in our product development and launch cycles, commercial processes, and business operations. You will create and negotiate a wide range of inbound and outbound agreements and structure commercial partnerships. Entrepreneurial by nature, you’ll have immediate impact through analytic rigor, uncanny judgment, and effective counseling. What You'll Do

  • Advise technical and business development teams on legal, regulatory, and privacy risk through all stages of product development.

  • Draft, negotiate, and analyze a broad range of agreements - including inbound, outbound, infrastructure, partnership and business associate agreements.

  • Support continuous improvements of forms, policies, and processes to streamline and simplify deals and product/service terms.

  • Partner closely with our Go-to-Market teams on product positioning and support regulatory or compliance reviews by customers.

  • Work cross-functionally across the company to analyze legal risks, devise creative solutions, and develop strong, trusted advisor relationships.

  • Analyze our legal processes and consistently iterate to help the organization become more efficient and scale effectively.

  • Manage internal projects, processes, trainings, and drive cross-functional efforts to successful completion.

Skills & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of legal experience in a relevant setting, including in-house and start-up experience. Previous healthcare and/or healthtech experience is required.

  • Experience counseling product development and working closely with designers, engineers, and product management.

  • ​​Significant demonstrable experience negotiating, drafting, and reviewing commercial contracts and technology agreements, and counseling go-to-market strategies.

  • Experience with and passion for commercial technology licensing, intellectual property, SaaS offerings, and transactions. Experience with AI/ML products is a plus.

  • Experience with data privacy, HIPAA, security, intellectual property law, marketing and advertising law, and information policy. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Great interpersonal skills with sound business judgment.

  • Passion for navigating complex problems, coming up with simple and practical solutions, and identifying ways to move the business forward.

  • Energized by a fast-paced team environment.

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and must be licensed to practice law.

Compensation

  • Based on market data and other factors, the salary range for this position is $165,000-$225,000 + Equity. However, a salary higher or lower than this range may be appropriate for a candidate whose qualifications differ meaningfully from those listed in the job description.
