Sr Manager Network Engineering

We are seeking an experienced Sr Manager Networking to lead a highly performing team of network engineers and technicians, ensuring world-class performance, availability and uptime for our cloud and hybrid network infrastructure. The Rackspace networking team is responsible for delivering the highest levels of customer experience for our current customers while at the same time being extremely innovative with technologies and tools that will push our capabilities into the future. Rackspace network engineers work on a wide range of projects that have a significant impact on the company’s ability to provide Fanatical Support and serve our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Oversees technicians performing network testing, monitoring, and troubleshooting of network facilities. Oversees proactive network status checks as part of normal surveillance activities, ensuring optimum performance. Assists in current systems updates as well as implementation of new systems. Acts as a liaison between management and technicians for key or urgent issues. Keeps managers informed of schedules, priorities, and problems. Supervises activities of staff (i.e. trains, appraises, rewards, motivates, disciplines, recommends termination as necessary). Determines deficiencies in processes and/or procedures and evaluates, proposes and implements solutions. Collaborates with peers to ensure uniformity of teams. May also act as a senior level network control technician on projects. Ensures proper documentation of all systems processes and procedures, including daily logs.

    • Plan, manage, implement and evaluate all aspects of IT Network management intended to ensure system availability on a 24/7/365 basis and to meet current and anticipated organizational growth requirements. Develop, test and implement appropriate business continuity and plans including backup, redundant systems or other methods to address potential disasters and ensure availability of critical patient, operating and proprietary data and systems. Collaborate with facilities management and others to continually assess environmental factors including HVAC, power, cabling and others required to sustain stable operations.

    •  Continually assess operational objectives, organizational structures and work processes to assure optimum skill mix, scheduling and staffing levels to meet daily operations, project needs and external events. Implement consistent performance management practices by defining and communicating goals and performance objectives; by regularly monitoring, evaluating and improving individual and team performance. Provide coaching and mentoring and other training and development activities to build staff competencies. Build teams that bridge cross functional and interdepartmental barriers. Develop and implement evaluation criteria that define highly competent, high performing individuals and teams.

Qualifications:

    • 8 - 10 years of relevant work experience required
    • A minimum of 2 years of experience in direct people management required
    • High School Diploma or regional equivalent required
    • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in field related to role.

$128,300 - $219,230 a year
The following information is required by pay transparency legislation in the following states: CA, CO, HI, NY and WA. This information applies only to individuals working in these states. 

The anticipated starting pay range for Colorado is: $128,300 - $188,210.

The anticipated starting pay range for Hawaii and New York (not including NYC) is: $136,600 - $200,310.

The anticipated starting pay range for California, New York City and Washington is: $149,500 - $219,230.

Based on eligibility, compensation for the role may include variable compensation in the form of bonus, commissions, or other discretionary payments.

These discretionary payments are based on company and/or individual performance, and may change at any time.

Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, licenses and certifications, and specific work location.
