Purpose of the Role

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Sportsbook Analyst to join our dynamic Sportsbook team. Reporting directly to the Sportsbook Risk & Trading Manager, you will play a critical role in monitoring betting activity, identifying trends, managing risks, and ensuring the overall profitability of the sportsbook operations.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a passion for sports and betting markets, and experience in sportsbook analysis. As this is a fully remote role, the successful candidate must also demonstrate excellent self-discipline, time management skills, and the ability to work effectively in a distributed team.

This is a shift based role, and will involve some evening and weekend shifts.

Role and Responsibilities

Market Monitoring and Analysis:

• Monitor sportsbook betting activity and identify unusual or suspicious betting patterns.

• Analyse market trends and customer behaviour to identify opportunities and risks.

• Provide data-driven insights to improve sportsbook profitability and reduce risk exposure.

Risk Management:

• Support the Risk & Trading Manager in managing sportsbook risk and exposure across all markets.

• Flag high-risk bets or customer activity and escalate where appropriate.

• Assist in developing strategies to minimise risk and prevent fraud.

Performance Reporting:

• Produce regular performance reports covering sportsbook KPIs, customer betting patterns, and profit margins.

• Analyse trading data to identify strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.

• Present findings and actionable recommendations to the Sportsbook Risk & Trading Manager.

Customer Segmentation:

• Assist in segmenting customers based on their betting behaviour and risk profiles.

• Monitor high-value players and ensure their activity aligns with company policies and risk thresholds.

• Work collaboratively with VIP and CRM teams to optimise player experience and engagement.

Site Maintenance and Content Management:

• Ensure sportsbook content is accurate, relevant, and optimised for customer engagement.

• Regularly review and update sportsbook markets, promotions, and event information.

• Collaborate with the marketing and content teams to ensure alignment of sportsbook offerings with customer expectations.

• Identify and escalate any content discrepancies or technical issues affecting customer experience.

Process Improvement:

• Identify inefficiencies in sportsbook operations and recommend improvements.

• Collaborate with technical and product teams to enhance sportsbook tools and platforms.

• Support the development and implementation of automated monitoring solutions.

Collaboration with Internal Teams:

• Work closely with trading, product, and customer support teams to ensure seamless sportsbook operations.

• Provide risk-related insights to marketing teams for targeted campaigns and promotions.

• Act as a point of contact for sportsbook-related queries from internal stakeholders, including providing level 2 support to Customer Support.

Work Experience and Skills

Essential Experience:

• 2+ years of experience in a sportsbook, trading, or risk analysis role.

• Experience working with sportsbook platforms and analytical tools.

• Strong numerical and statistical analysis skills.

• Proven ability to identify patterns and trends in large datasets.

Essential Skills:

• Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities.

• Ability to work with large datasets and derive actionable insights.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficiency in virtual collaboration tools (e.g., Slack, Zoom, Microsoft Teams).

• Self-motivated with excellent time management skills.

Desirable Experience/Skills:

• Experience in crypto iGaming or online betting industries.

• Knowledge of sportsbook trading models and risk management frameworks.

• Experience with sportsbook-specific analytics tools and platforms.

• Passion for sports and a strong understanding of sports betting markets.
