Overview of Role

66degrees is seeking a senior contractor to engage on a 11 weeks of remote assignment for approximately 40 hours per week with potential to extend. Interested candidates should have the following required skills in Golang.

Please note: Candidates must be available to start by the last week of April.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Architect to design and implement robust, scalable, and efficient data and backend systems. This role will focus on leveraging Go for backend development and Google Cloud Bigtable for high-performance data storage and retrieval. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of distributed systems, data modeling, and performance optimization.

Requirements

  • Ability to work UK Hours (morning overlap with US time), 40 hours a week for approx 11 weeks contract without disruption. 
    • Design and architect scalable, high-availability data and backend systems using Go and Google Cloud Bigtable.
    • Provide technical leadership and guidance on Go backend development best practices.
    • Evaluate and select appropriate technologies and tools to meet project requirements.
    • Document architectural decisions, and create technical documentation.
    • Optimize Go code for performance and resource utilization.
    • Contribute to code reviews and ensure code quality.
    • Experience with database- ScyllaDB nice to have
    • Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure). GCP preferred.
    • Kafka experience.
  • Proven ability to Test, validate and review the solution.
  • Experience working in a highly automated agile environment where changes are pushed
  • Familiar with the scrum process and Git.
  • Strong communication skills.
