This 10-week Skills Bootcamp offers aspiring animators the opportunity to develop the technical, creative, and professional skills needed to succeed in a studio environment.

Led by experienced animation tutors and supported by A Productions, the bootcamp focuses on the core principles of animation, studio-standard workflows, and employability.

Participants will complete a series of structured projects designed to replicate real-world animation production, with personalised feedback to help refine and strengthen their work.

You will also gain valuable insight into working within a production pipeline, develop portfolio-ready work, and receive guidance to help you identify your ideal role within the animation industry.

What will you learn?

This Skills Bootcamp is designed to prepare learners for the expectations of working in a professional animation studio. You’ll build technical confidence, sharpen your creative storytelling, and develop industry-informed work that showcases your strengths.

As part of the programme, you’ll take on a live shadowing project, replicating shots from a brand-new animated TV series produced by A Productions for Terrific Television. You’ll follow real studio workflows and gain insight into how professional episodes are created — a unique opportunity to align your skills with industry expectations.

Core Focus Areas include:
  • 3D Animation – including posing, weight, timing, acting
  • Shot Planning – interpreting a creative brief and planning shots
  • Animation Workflow – blocking, splining, and polishing techniques
  • Feedback Cycles – how to effectively take on and implement professional notes
  • Teamwork and Pipelines – simulating collaboration within a remote studio environment
  •  Showreel Development – producing portfolio assets that reflect industry standards
By the end of the bootcamp, you’ll complete a polished animation project, build a showreel, and gain greater clarity on the animation career path that suits your skills and interests.
