The Southern Poverty Law Center is seeking a Senior Specialist, Recruitment committed to supporting social justice!
We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Senior Specialist, Recruitment to join our recruiting team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in sourcing, attracting, and hiring top student talent to participate in our internship, fellowship and externship programs. You will collaborate with hiring managers to understand their requirements, develop effective recruitment strategies, and ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the hiring process. You will also establish mutually beneficial relationships with colleges and universities.
Who You Are
Experienced. Demonstrated experience in human resources recruitment and or talent acquisition. Specifically working with those currently enrolled in a 2-year, 4-year, or graduate program.
Approachable. Ability to speak to and interact with students from various schools and diverse backgrounds in different settings. For example, on campus career fairs and networking events.
Knowledgeable. Proven knowledge of various sourcing techniques and recruitment best practices to attract top talent.
Organized. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and resources effectively.
Effective Communicator. Ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally to student candidates and Career Services staff.
Resourceful. Proficiency in developing exciting recruiting strategies to attract student talent.
Collaborator. Ability to work collaboratively and efficiently across the Center and with Career Services.

What You'll Do
Source, identify, and engage qualified candidates using various channels, including job boards, social media, referrals and professional networks.
Assist in the development of recruitment materials (i.e. career fair handouts, flyers).
Develop and maintain a talent pipeline to support hiring manager’s talent needs.
Foster relationships with career services offices and Deans of colleges and universities.
Coordinate and participate in recruiting events both on campus and in the community in states where we have offices.
Facilitate professional engagement activities and events for intern, fellowship and extern students in partnership with program leaders.
Assist in the development of hiring manager resources (i.e. candidate score cards, interview questions, training on ATS).
Review resumes, conduct initial screenings, and evaluate candidate qualification. Conduct reference checks as needed.
Coordinate and conduct interviews through the hiring process.
Maintain and manage applicant tracking systems to ensure accurate and timely data.
Ensure a positive and processional experience for all candidates and hiring managers throughout the recruitment process.
Partner with the Senior Human Resources Administrator to ensure a consistent onboarding process for new hires.
Ensure all recruitment activities comply with employment laws and regulations.
Prepare and present reports on recruitment metrics and outcomes to management.
Engage in full lifecycle recruiting and oversee the selection process from initial outreach through hiring and onboarding process.
Recruit for other open positions as needed.
Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification.

Minimum Qualifications
We are committed to equitable hiring practices, therefore you must meet the minimum qualifications to be considered for the role.
- At least 5 years of experience in recruiting or similar HR role;
- Demonstrated experience managing programs directly related to employer college relations and or recruitment;
- Certification in recruitment or HR (i.e. PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred; and
- High School Diploma or GED.
Compensation & Benefits
This is an exempt role and the minimum starting salary is $73,832.00 annually. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
Where & How You'll Work
This role the following work designations options:
- Local Remote: Will work remotely, but is expected to attend work-related activities that occur at the SPLC offices or in the states in which the SPLC operates.
- Telework: Will work at an SPLC office at least three days per week and may work two days per week from an alternative work location.
- This position will report to the Senior Recruitment Consultant, Lead.
Other Special Considerations
This job is performed under general office conditions and is not subject to any strenuous physical demands or dangerous conditions.
