We are seeking a powerful storyteller to join our team to elevate corporate messaging strategy to new heights. This visionary and results-driven VP, Corporate Communications will partner with Marqeta's leadership team to set the strategic direction for all corporate communications across internal and external audiences. Reporting to the Interim-CEO, this role requires someone with strategic vision who also loves to roll up their sleeves and execute with the team.

Position Summary

The Partner Operations team is a key division within Marqeta's broader Go-To-Market Organization, with two essential functions. The bank and network partnership teams drive global strategies to enhance our core technology and capabilities across credit, debit, prepaid card, and money movement offerings. Meanwhile, the solution design and delivery teams guide and support our customers in launching tailored, best-in-class solutions to meet their business needs.

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Director of Solutions to lead and enhance our solution engineering and technical account management teams. This role will focus on driving and supporting customer-centric, scalable solutions that align with the needs of our clients and partners. The Senior Director will also be responsible for fostering continuous improvement in processes, delivering exceptional customer success, and building a high-performing, collaborative team. This role requires a strategic leader who can drive innovation while ensuring the delivery of technically sound, compliant, and impactful solutions to our customers.

The Impact You'll Have

  • Lead and manage the Solution Engineering and Customer Solutions teams to deliver scalable, customer-centric solutions that align with business and compliance goals.
  • Oversee the Technical Success Manager and Technical Account Manager teams to ensure smooth implementation and unparalleled post-live support for clients.
  • Drive operational efficiency by streamlining processes and workflows, ensuring high-quality and timely solution delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, product, engineering, delivery, bank and network) to align solutions with client needs and company objectives.
  • Foster a customer-first culture, providing tailored guidance and solutions that support long-term client success.
  • Build and mentor high-performing teams, promoting a collaborative, innovative, and accountable work environment.
  • Monitor and improve team performance, providing feedback and coaching for career development.
  • Manage resources and staffing to ensure effective resource allocation and alignment with business goals.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging data and feedback to optimize team performance and solution delivery.
  • Communicate effectively with senior leadership, providing updates on team performance, customer satisfaction, and process improvements.

Who You Are 

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Engineering, or related discipline); MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in solution engineering, technical account management, or a related field, with a proven track record of leading high-performing teams.
  • Strong background in driving customer success through the delivery of technical solutions, with deep expertise in customer-centric solutions and scalable implementation strategies.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership and clients.
  • Proven experience in process improvement, operational efficiency, and driving change in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with a keen ability to identify opportunities for innovation and process optimization.
  • Experience in resource capacity forecasting and planning.

Compensation and Benefits

Marqeta is a Flex First company which allows you to choose your best working environment, whether that be from home or at a company office. To support Flex First, we calibrate pay to a competitive value according to working location. Compensation is aligned according to three tiers within the United States:

  • National: A baseline tier that applies to most of the geographic territory of the United States.
  • Premium: Slightly elevated from the National tier, and oriented toward a narrower set of higher cost-of-living areas, such as Los Angeles CA and Seattle WA
  • Premium Plus: A tier for the most expensive working areas, like the San Francisco Bay area and New York City.

When determining salaries, we consider several factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior experience, and work location. The new-hire OTE range for this position is:

  • National: $244,800 - $306,000
  • Premium: $265,000 - $331,200
  • Premium Plus: $288,000 - $360,000
