About the Role

We are seeking a Senior AI Engineer to lead the development and deployment of advanced AI models and systems for real-time conversational agents. In this role, you will create and implement cutting-edge AI models and algorithms, develop AI-powered applications, and integrate AI capabilities into existing software. Collaboration with data scientists, software engineers, and domain experts will be a cornerstone of your work. You will be responsible for optimizing AI systems to ensure high performance and scalability, all while staying at the forefront of advancements in AI technologies and techniques.

As part of your work, you will leverage large language models (LLMs), voice synthesis, and automatic speech recognition (ASR) to build intelligent agents that deliver exceptional user experiences. This position demands a strong focus on both technical excellence and product impact, with the goal of driving meaningful business outcomes through innovative AI solutions.

Responsibilities

AI Development and Deployment

    • Develop and maintain AI-driven, real-time speech-to-speech conversational agents.
    • Build low-latency, high-impact features that enhance user experiences and align with product goals.
    • Optimize AI pipelines, including LLMs, ASR, and text-to-speech (TTS) systems, for performance and scalability.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Work closely with product, design, and research teams to ensure AI capabilities meet user needs and product objectives.
    • Partner with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to identify and prioritize impactful features.

Data Intuition and Model Optimization

    • Analyze large datasets to extract meaningful insights for model development and evaluation.
    • Demonstrate a strong intuition for leveraging data to address user needs and product challenges.
    • Implement and optimize machine learning algorithms for performance and scalability.

AI Infrastructure and Maintenance

    • Monitor, maintain, and improve AI systems in production to ensure reliability, accuracy, and robustness.
    • Stay current with advancements in generative AI and machine learning to incorporate innovative solutions into our systems.

Product-Minded Approach

    • Collaborate on defining and tracking success metrics for AI features.
    • Ensure that AI solutions directly contribute to measurable product outcomes and user satisfaction.

Research and Continuous Improvement

    • Explore and implement emerging AI techniques and methodologies to maintain a competitive edge.
    • Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to uphold high-quality deliverables.

 

Qualifications

Experience and Expertise

    • 8+ years of experience as a Machine Learning Engineer, AI Engineer, or a related role.
    • Proven experience developing and deploying ML/AI capabilities into production for real users.
    • Strong programming skills in Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript. Expertise in one and willingness to learn the other is essential.

Technical Skills

    • Deep understanding of core MLOps and modern software architecture for ML-based applications.
    • Proficiency in data structures, algorithms, and statistical methods.
    • Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
    • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
    • Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.

Behavioral and Mindset Requirements

    • Strong data intuition with the ability to make informed decisions based on data insights.
    • Product-minded, with a focus on delivering solutions that meet user needs and drive business impact.
    • Enthusiastic about applying AI to solve real-world business problems.

Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Physics, or a related field.
    • Experience with natural language processing (NLP), computer vision, or reinforcement learning.
