Job Description

This Senior Accountant role has a strong projects accounting focus and will be part of the Record to Report function across ANZ and Asia. You will partner with the business to deliver as a team, the monthly management reporting; process improvements and commercial insights for SEEK across the APAC region.

To be successful in this position you will need to be an energetic self-starter with strong commercial and analytical skills. The ideal background is someone with strong management reporting skills; an ability to implement process improvements; and has strong commercial acumen to lead a squad in creating robust personnel analysis and valuable insights to assist senior stakeholders with business decisions


What You’ll Do:

  • Prepare and deliver project reporting for the business, including clear interpretation of actual results, communication of drivers and implications for future financial performance
  • Deep understanding of Capex - constantly assess the application of Group accounting policies around capitalisation of development costs, seek out opportunities, assess potential risks and support the Tax R&D incentive process
  • Deliver strong financial controls and record financial results in-line with SEEK Group accounting policies and IFRS
  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Work collaboratively across Finance teams to continuously improve the speed and automation of financial data capture, reconciliation, reporting, analysis and insight generation
  • Supervise, guide and mentor junior team members

Qualifications

  • CA / CPA designation or equivalent
  • Experience in commercial analysis roles and an exposure to projects specific accounting would be viewed favourably
  • Experience in preparation and accountability for business unit P&Ls and balance sheets
  • Self-starter with the ability to interpret and communicate commercial insights to decision makers
  • Passionate for enhancing business processes and information systems to optimise the capture of information
  • An ability to manage large volumes of information and manipulate this through advanced Excel skills and data visualisation tools
  • Experience in coaching and guiding junior accountants within a team
