Davies North America is looking for an experienced Program Leader to directly manage a team and program consisting of multiple projects commissioned by the Group Executive Committee. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Transformation, you will be responsible for oversight of portfolio of projects as part an overall program established from Executive level sponsorship.
To be successful in this role, you need to obtain results through others by directly managing a team of Project Managers and Business Process Analysts to achieve project and program objectives. This role requires superior time management skills with capability of working with and meeting deadlines including the ability to multi-task and prioritize. Candidates must have demonstrated organization and project documentation skills in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment. You must have experience of program management and PMP / PRINCE II certification is a plus. People management and leadership experience is required as is Six Sigma Black Belt certification given Six Sigma project coaching this role will perform. Additionally, you will need to exhibit discretion with sensitive and confidential information and display a comfort level working with key people at all levels within an organization. This role is a full-time, home-based position with up to 5% travel including international travel that may be required.
Your New Role
- Directly manage a team of Project Managers and Business Process Analysts located in North America including future hiring (full time and/or contractor) and performance management and coaching
- Ensure Project Managers are delivering a quality service and following Davies defined processes, methods, utilizing project tools, and executing stated project deliverables
- Ensure Business Process Analysts are executing deliverables on time and utilizing the process analysis tools, methods, and technology expected by providing Six Sigma and process coaching
- Provide Six Sigma Black Belt coaching to Six Sigma Green/Yellow belts including use of Six Sigma analysis methods and tools
- Manage and communicate the delivery of the programme including attending and/or facilitating portfolio, project, financial, and process analysis reviews and providing program and project status reporting
- Manage and monitor the programme financial costs and benefits expected seeking change requests as appropriate in partnership with Program Management Office (PMO) and finance partners
- Provide Resource planning of current and upcoming projects, staff needed for forthcoming initiatives, and onboarding and managing contractors should initiative volume of work require additional staff
- Carry out general HR duties including performance plans, holiday and sickness management, and individual support for direct reports
- Work across geographies, time zones, and cultures in partnership with other lines of business, stakeholders, and key contacts to achieve expected initiative outcomes
- Develop positive relationships with key stakeholders and business partners to become a trusted partner and be sought after for expertise
- Manage and deliver analysis on Global Change projects covering Process, systems, technology, and services
- Conduct process improvement and process mapping activity such as current state process analysis documenting ‘as is’ and ‘to be’ processes, identifying waste, pain points and potential automation/AI opportunities where applicable.
- Support the overall growth and improvement of project management by sharing best practice and managing lessons learned
- Creating long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines
- Delegate tasks to employees best positioned to complete them
- Make effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project
What You'll Bring to the Role
- High level attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Capable of working collaboratively and independently with minimal supervision
- Extensive experience of programme management in large, global, fast paced environments
- Certified in Program/Project Management – PMP or PRINCE II
- Certified Six Sigma Blackbelt with demonstrated experience of coaching multiple Six Sigma projects
- Demonstrated direct management of a team
- Previous experience directly managing project financial budgets and benefits
- Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Well-developed interpersonal skills
- Ability to present and engage well at the most senior level within the organisation and also at front line employee levels.
- Experience in delivering operational and technology focused process improvement projects including the development of automation
- Strong analytical, methodical problem solving and process improvement skillset in a transformation focused environment.
- Technical and system awareness to support IT change projects such as system migration, implementation, and consolidation activity
- Experience in delivering operational and technology focused process improvement projects including the development of automation
- Experience across full project lifecycle from Discovery to BAU
