Job Overview
The Principal is an expertise-based client-facing role responsible for the development and growth of their capability area in four ways: Developing others in their area of expertise, delivering in their area of expertise, thought leadership (e.g., publishing, speaking at conferences, leading webinars), and leveraging their expertise to architect and sell solutions in the sales process.
A Principal is recognized as an expert internally and externally in their capability area. This role is focused on technical excellence, thought leadership, specialized consulting but may also manage teams. The principal has deep expertise in a specific domain with a focus on high-level problem solving and technical delivery. A principal will typically be staffed across multiple projects and/or engagements.
This role is specifically for a Principal in the Healthcare Payer segment. Point B is seeking the Principal to bring domain expertise working directly in and advising on core Payer Operations, including enrollment, billing, customer service, claims and utilization and care management. The Principal shall bring a foundational understanding of the Payer-specific data and IT systems and infrastructure that enable these functions.
  
Responsibilities Overview
Collaborates across the firm to provide subject matter expertise to projects, offerings, and sales pursuits.
Provides engagement quality oversight and demonstrates Point B value proposition through delivery excellence and strategic value for our clients; ultimately accountable for the success of engagements they lead and advise.
Indirect role in business development; may influence through expertise or thought leadership; often focuses on deal architecture and closure.
Advisory to clients on specialized issues, supporting senior leadership in strategic initiatives; expected to independently engage with and influence senior, domain counterpart at the client(s).
Develops thought leadership, client insight articles and represents Point B by presenting at client facing forums and conferences.
Collaborates with growth team to drive extensions, new business opportunities, etc.
Stays current in domain area trends; conducts benchmarking and research; understands best practices and changes (i.e. laws, regulations, etc.)
Serves as our client’s expert leader and advisor on their most strategic projects, earning their loyalty through superior service, responsiveness, and demonstrating Point B’s expertise.
Develops and maintains an extensive network at the executive level.
Collaborates with consulting and BU leadership to evaluate opportunities, sell, and deliver innovative results for new and existing clients.
Develops and leverages tools and practices that bring domain expertise to the sales cycle in rapid and repeatable ways.
Supports practice leadership in strategic planning.
Develops associates by leading engagements within the practice area in a manner that promotes on-the-job growth opportunities and a positive experience for associates in the practice.
Consistently demonstrates and lives Point B cultural tenets and values and serves as a connection point for team members to the firm and the practice.
 
Required Qualifications Overview
B.A. or B.S. required
12 years minimum of experience
Consulting experience required
Ability to work on-site as requested
Ability to work remotely
Ability to travel up to 80%
Ability to work non-standard work hours as necessary
 
Desired Qualifications Overview
MBA desired
Proven ability to architect and lead complex engagements
Experience coaching or mentoring others on day-to-day development and career progression
Deep expertise in delivering work within the Healthcare Industry, specifically in the Payer Segment
Experience serving as a SME to senior business leaders
Consulting experience required

Compensation and Benefits
The estimated salary range for this role is $118,500-$263,500 USD per year. This salary range is provided as required by local and state law as applicable. Individual salaries vary on a number of factors including but not limited to geography, skills, education, experience and unique qualifications where applicable.
 
Bonuses are awarded at Point B’s discretion and are based upon individual contributions and overall firm performance.
