Job Description:
The Copia legal team is seeking a Paralegal with corporate and/or renewable energy experience. The ideal team member possesses exceptional organizational, communication, and people skills. Attention to detail, accountability, and a collaborative and supportive team are key elements of this job.
The Paralegal will report directly to the Senior Paralegal working closely with Copia’s capital markets, commercial, development, and EPC finance teams in an individual contributor capacity.
Key Responsibilities:
The Paralegal will report to Copia’s Senior Paralegal and provide comprehensive administrative support to the Copia legal department and the company as a whole
•Establish and maintain well-organized files across multiple formats, including hardcopy, electronic, and various shared site platforms.
•Assist with tasks integral to contracting, including drafting, reviewing, and editing basic legal documents and managing contract signature process.
•Support renewable energy project transactions by tracking due diligence activities and preparing initial drafts of disclosure schedules and data room catalogs.
• Assist in transaction management, including corporate deliverables and title and survey matters
•Liaise with finance and accounting teams on matters such as spend approvals and invoices, and finance onboarding tasks.
•Assist in the maintenance and renewal of business licenses and professional registrations in various jurisdictions.
•Undertake additional responsibilities to support corporate level compliance and the development, construction, and operation of renewable energy projects.
•Perform other legal administrative duties within the legal department that may vary according to work assignments, business needs, and training.

•Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
•Interest in being a part of a small legal team and working with internal and external stakeholders on a large range of legal matters.
•Knowledge of real estate and corporate governance.
Minimum Qualifications:
•Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience as a paralegal or transaction associate in the renewable energy industry.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office; CLM experience preferred.
•Notary certification or ability to complete within 90 days of employment.
•Ability to work concurrently on a variety of projects.
•Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
