Intern, IT Enterprise Applications

The SPLC is seeking initiatives-taking IT interns who are enthusiastic about joining our enterprise applications team!


Are you passionate about empowering local communities with technology and eager to gain hands-on experience in the exciting world of Application Analysis? Join our Enterprise Applications Team as an Application Analyst Intern and make a real impact on the performance and efficiency of our critical software systems. The Center is a catalyst for racial justice in the South and beyond, working in partnership with communities to dismantle white supremacy, strengthen intersectional movements, and advance the human rights of all people. As an internationally recognized nonprofit organization, the Center is dedicated to reducing bigotry and oppression through research and public education, outreach, litigation, and policy advocacy.

Who You Are

Knowledgeable. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and a basic understanding of database concepts and queries (SQL) preferred.

Analytical. Strong problem-solving skills.

Communicative. Effective communication skills with a strong work ethic and attention not detail.

Team Player.  Ability to work alongside a high functioning team.

Inquisitive. Interest in learning new technologies and tools.

What You'll Do

Assist with the analysis and documentation of business requirements for new and existing applications.

Conduct research and gather data to identify areas for improvement in application functionality and performance. 

Work alongside Software Engineers and technical teams to evaluate systems and data.

Collaborate with stakeholders to implement solutions to resolve application issues.

Prepare reports and presentations summarizing your findings and recommendations.

Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and technologies in application analysis.

Uphold our JEDI principles by helping to ensure we uplift the voices of underserved communities.

Minimum Qualifications 

We are committed to equitable hiring practices; therefore, you must meet the minimum qualifications to be considered for the role.

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant degree program (Computer Science, Information Systems, etc.);
  • Strong academic background; and
  • Strong organizational, communication and critical thinking skills. 

Compensation & Benefits

The Center pays $17.50 per hour. Interns are expected to work 40 hours a week and there may be opportunity for supervisor approved overtime.

 

Where & How You'll Work 

This role has the following work designation:

  • Local Remote: Will work remotely but is expected to attend work-related activities that occur at the SPLC offices or in the states in which the SPLC operates.

Other Special Considerations 

This job is performed under general office conditions and is not subject to any strenuous physical demands or dangerous conditions.

Due to the high volume of applications received, we are unable to respond to inquiries by telephone.

Interns are expected to begin in June 2025. A minimum commitment of ten consecutive weeks is expected.
