InsideTrack Coach, Hispanic-Serving Institutions

InsideTrack is passionate about student success and we are hiring a full-time Coach to contribute to our mission by helping students attending Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs) reach their education and career goals. This is an important part of our nonprofit mission to promote equitable social mobility through the power of coaching.

Between 2000 and 2020, Latine college enrollment skyrocketed by 287%, far outpacing the 56% increase for all students. In 2022, Latine learners made up 25% of U.S. undergraduates, and by 2030, they’ll represent nearly 30% of the college-age population. Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs), now over 500 strong, play a critical role, but challenges remain: financial obstacles, first-generation student struggles, and gaps in academic preparation. In 2022, only 20% of Latine adults aged 25 or older had earned a bachelor’s degree or higher, compared to 36% of the general U.S. population. To close these gaps, we need bold investments to provide culturally responsive support to students.

InsideTrack Coaching can be the game changer. A Coach can be impactful, especially if the coach shares a common lived experience with a learner and is able to connect on a cultural and linguistic level. If this speaks to you, please come join us as a Coach at InsideTrack.

The Role
InsideTrack Coaches work with both prospective and enrolled students to ensure they are getting the most out of their educational experience. Through a combination of phone, email, and texting, coaches work to understand a student’s primary goals, and facilitate a conversation to advance that student towards those objectives. Coaches play an integral role in helping students build knowledge, skills, and beliefs so they can overcome any barriers that arise on the journey to reaching their goals. Coaches also gather insights and stories to help lift up the impact of coaching.  We will train you on our coaching methodology and the technology we use for tracking coaching sessions.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

    • Student Outreach and Scheduling: Maintain an active roster of students through continuous outreach, scheduling coaching sessions, and ensuring consistent engagement.
    • Promote the Value of Coaching: Effectively communicate the benefits of coaching to inspire students to participate in sessions and take actionable steps in their college journey.
    • Build Strong Student Relationships: Quickly establish rapport with students to enhance their experience, increase engagement with coaching, and support their overall success.
    • Goal Planning and Advancing: Help students create tailored academic and career plans by identifying their values, goals, needs, and obstacles.
    • Strategic Milestone Tracking: Develop strategies to achieve key benchmarks, regularly monitor progress, and report on goal attainment for your roster.
    • Data Management: Keep accurate and up-to-date student records in contact management systems to support seamless tracking and reporting.
    • Student Outcomes Assessment: Assess and forecast students’ likelihood to remain enrolled or progress in their educational journeys, and report insights as needed.
    • Professional Growth: Actively participate in the coaching training program, completing milestones at the expected pace to grow as a professional.
    • Collaborative Engagement: Attend team meetings and one-on-one sessions to share insights, align on goals, and stay connected with colleagues.
    • Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned to support the program and its mission.

Your Qualifications: We’re looking for dynamic individuals with the following qualifications and attributes:

    • Dedication to Educational Equity: A genuine passion for supporting first-generation and Latine students in navigating the path to higher education.
    • Exceptional Communication Skills: Ability to craft compelling, audience-specific messages across diverse platforms, including email, text, phone calls, and Zoom.
    • High Emotional and Social Intelligence: Strong interpersonal skills and a natural ability to establish trust and meaningful connections with students from diverse backgrounds.
    • Bilingual Proficiency and Cultural Affinity: Fluency in English and Spanish preferred, with required Latine cultural fluency and an authentic affinity for Latine communities.
    • Knowledge of Higher Education Systems: Familiarity with college programs and the experience of first-gen and or Latine students is preferred, providing a strong foundation for student coaching.
    • Adaptability and Multitasking Excellence: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities with grace under pressure, while maintaining professionalism and composure.
    • Information-Seeking and Coaching Skills: A proactive approach to gathering relevant information and resources to guide coaching conversations effectively.
    • Tech-Savviness: Comfort with technology, including the use of contact management software and a proven ability to quickly master new digital tools and platforms.
    • Analytical Insight: Capacity to identify trends and insights from coaching interactions and recommend actionable strategies based on data.
    • Attention to Detail and Time Management: Outstanding ability to meet deadlines, prioritize simultaneous requests, and deliver high-quality work in both structured and unstructured environments.
    • Remote Collaboration Skills: Proven ability to foster and maintain strong working relationships in a remote environment.
    • Critical Thinking and Active Listening: Skilled at interpreting complex information, engaging students in meaningful dialogue, and listening attentively to their needs and concerns.
    • Educational Foundation: A bachelor’s degree is required, with a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.

    • If this resonates with you, we encourage you to apply and join a team that is shaping the future of higher education equity!

The Logistics:

    • You must be eligible for employment in the United States
    • We will provide you with training, as well as a company laptop
    • Your employment is at-will, meaning either you or the company can end the employment relationship, with or without cause or notice
    • You’ll need to sign an Employee Confidential Information and Inventions Assignment Agreement upon hire, that essentially says you will not take company proprietary information to compete with InsideTrack (note: in the vast majority of cases, having your own coaching business does not violate this agreement.  If you have questions, just ask)
    • You will be eligible for company-sponsored benefits
