Head of People

Veda Tech Labs is an innovative software development and DeFi strategy firm focused on building advanced financial infrastructure for decentralized ecosystems. We specialize in trading technologies, yield optimization, and strategic partnerships in the DeFi space.

Veda Tech Labs is seeking a thoughtful, hands-on Head of People to lead all aspects of the employee journey—starting with recruitment and scaling into people operations, onboarding, culture, and retention. This is a foundational role focused primarily on hiring, but with clear ownership of the broader People function as the company grows. You’ll collaborate closely with leadership to shape and execute hiring strategies, design and optimize people processes, and ensure every team member has a best-in-class experience from their first conversation to their first day and beyond. We’re looking for someone who thrives in early-stage environments, enjoys building from the ground up, and can balance strategic thinking with tactical execution.

Key Responsibilities

    • Talent Acquisition & Hiring Strategy - Lead full-cycle recruiting across all functions (engineering, product, operations, etc.)
    • Partner with leadership to define hiring needs, job scopes, and prioritization
    • Build sourcing strategies to attract diverse, top-tier candidates across domains
    • Coordinate and improve interview processes, candidate experience, and decision-making frameworks
    • Own and manage applicant tracking tools, recruiting documentation, and reporting
    • Onboarding & People Ops - Design and own the end-to-end onboarding experience, ensuring smooth transitions for all new hires
    • Maintain accurate, organized internal employee records (contracts, compensation, roles, etc.)
    • Partner with operations and legal to ensure compliance in all employment matters
    • Track onboarding milestones and continuously improve integration and engagement workflows
    • People Experience & Culture - Create scalable processes to support a high-trust, high-performance remote culture
    • Champion employee experience across onboarding, team rituals, internal comms, and feedback loops
    • Support employer branding initiatives and help tell Veda’s story in ways that attract and retain top talent
    • Systems, Tools & Vendor Coordination - Keep recruiting and employee systems clean, documented, and compliant
    • Manage relationships with external recruiters, platforms, or HR vendors
    • Collaborate with leadership on compensation strategy, role leveling, and team structure

Qualifications

    • 4+ years experience in recruiting, people ops, or HR—preferably in a tech or startup environment
    • Proven success leading full-cycle hiring across both technical and non-technical roles
    • Familiarity with onboarding, employee recordkeeping, and compliance best practices
    • Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills
    • Experience using ATS platforms and HR tools (e.g., Gusto, Notion)

Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in crypto, DeFi, or fintech
    • Familiarity with distributed teams and remote-first best practices
    • Knowledge of U.S. and/or international employment and contractor compliance frameworks
    • Excitement about building culture, process, and operations from the ground up
