About our hiring partner
Our hiring partner is building a gifting platform within the Shopify ecosystem that removes friction from gift purchases while helping merchants collect valuable data on gift recipients. Their solution enables shoppers to send gift links without needing recipient size or address information upfront, while providing merchants tools to convert gift recipients into repeat customers.
What You'll Work On
Shopify API Integration: Work on leveraging various Shopify APIs, including Shopify GraphQL APIs, Cart Transform API, Checkout Extensions, Theme App Extensions, and Shopify Flows.
Backend Engineering: Focus on building and maintaining the core backend logic of the app, including server-side infrastructure and ensuring optimal performance.
Collaborative Development: Work closely with the CTO and fellow engineers to prioritize, build, and deploy impactful features that affect both merchants and their customers.
Bug Diagnosis and Resolution: Identify and resolve bugs, ensuring that the app performs optimally across multiple environments and integrations.
Scalable Solutions: Design scalable, maintainable systems that enhance functionality and improve the overall user experience.
Required Skills and Experience
Backend Engineering: Strong experience in backend development, particularly with NodeJS and TypeScript.
Shopify App Development: Proven experience building and integrating with Shopify's app ecosystem (including GraphQL, API integrations, and custom Shopify apps). Frontend experience with Shopify themes is a bonus but not required.
Technical Stack: Hands-on experience with NodeJS, TypeScript, React, and Inngest for event-driven systems.
Collaboration: Comfortable working in a dynamic, cross-functional team environment, contributing ideas, providing feedback, and participating in discussions to improve processes and deliverables.
Problem-Solving: A track record of troubleshooting and resolving complex technical challenges.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, as you'll be working closely with other team members and stakeholders across different time zones.
Compensation
$6,000 - $10,000 USD monthly
