Full Stack Developer

Job Summary

We are a venture-backed startup developing next-generation orchestration software for autonomous systems. Our platform enables the complex coordination of multi-domain robotic systems with applications in defense and commercial sectors. 

We are seeking a talented Full Stack Developer to join our growing engineering team in a contract-to-hire capacity. You'll work on our distributed orchestration platform, building everything from real-time data processing systems to intuitive control interfaces. This role offers the opportunity to work on the forefront of autonomous systems while collaborating with a dynamic team.  The initial contract period is 6 months, with the intention to convert to a full-time position based on performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop distributed systems for autonomous platform orchestration

  • Build real-time data processing pipelines for multi-domain robotic systems telemetry

  • Implement scalable backend systems using Python and modern frameworks

  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while following best practices and coding standards

  • Collaborate with product managers and designers to translate business requirements into technical solutions

  • Design and implement technical solutions integrating AI into an intuitive user experience

  • Implement performant, responsive user interfaces for complex data visualizations and user interactions

  • Design and implement intelligent and scalable data models

  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to other developers

  • Debug production issues and implement fixes across the stack

  • Document technical specifications and maintain development documentation

  • Contribute to architectural discussions and technical decision-making

  • Support the continuous deployment pipeline and help maintain development infrastructure

Required Qualifications

  • This position requires the candidate to be a "U.S. Person" as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15). You must be either:

    • A U.S. citizen

    • A lawful permanent resident (green card holder)

    • A refugee, asylee, or other protected individual under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)

  • 3+ years of professional software development experience

  • Strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript

  • Extensive experience with React and modern frontend development practices

  • Solid understanding of web development fundamentals (HTML, CSS, HTTP, REST APIs, WebSockets)

  • Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or other relational databases

  • Experience with real-time data processing and streaming

  • Experience with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field

  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD, Docker, AWS)

  • Experience with agile development methodologies

  • Experience with testing frameworks and automated testing

  • Experience with ROS, robotics, autonomous vehicles, or control systems

  • Familiarity with PX4 and/or MAVLink

  • Understanding of web security best practices

  • Familiarity with 3D web technologies (WebGL, Three.js)

  • Contributions to open-source projects

  • Experience with microservices architecture

  • Willingness to obtain a US Security clearance

This is a contract-to-hire position with an expected compensation range of $75–$100 per hour, commensurate with your experience, portfolio, and ability to contribute to project success.
