Director, Paid Media Activation (Social and Display)

A successful Director of Paid Media Activation should be an effective communicator capable of working with and leading a team in a collaborative environment. This role promotes strong integration among all functions within Bounteous x Accolite, with clients and internal resources across the organization. The focus of the role is on paid social and display advertising.

Responsibilities

    • Create and oversee campaigns across selected channels (Social, DSP, DMP, and ad-serving platforms).
    • Responsible for overseeing campaign design, execution, and management across display and social media platforms, led by junior team members.
    • Skilled in implementing new tools and processes for the media activation team, including trafficking, pacing, reporting, etc.
    • Translate broad media plans and business objectives into tactical, innovative display and paid social media strategies and campaigns that meet and exceed client expectations.
    • Work with the Media Strategy team to ensure campaigns align with overarching media strategies and plans, overseeing strategic execution, optimization, and billing for assigned clients.
    • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the client's social media budgets and program components. Efficiently address inquiries about the account's status, including the plan's stage, ad purchases, performance, current workflows, and client billing.
    • Skilled in presenting strategies, plans, and reports to clients, and adept at incorporating feedback to make actionable improvements.
    • Contribute to agency growth and business development as the leading expert on display and paid social activation. Create and contribute thought leadership on behalf of BxA.
    • Ability to guide, train, and lead junior team members.
    • Create clear and comprehensive reports demonstrating results, utilizing dashboards and tools, and translating them into presentations as required.
    • Ability to build audiences using multiple data sources and insights from audience profiles.
    • Study for and pass media platform certifications to continually develop knowledge.
    • Continuously expand expertise in digital marketing.
    • Consistently meet department and client deadlines.
    • Stay current in a rapidly evolving industry.
    • Carefully track and record billable time.

Preferred Qualifications

    • Agency experience is required. Experienced contributing to agency growth and business development pursuits as a subject matter expert.
    • 10+ years of related media experience. Minimum four years of experience managing a team. Minimum five years experience with Display, Video, CTV, DOOh, and Audio, including four or more years of experience with ad serving technology. Deeply familiar with Google Marketing Platform (GMP). Minimum four years of experience with native social ad platforms (Meta, TikTok, Snap, Reddit, and Pinterest).
    • Master Media and buying-related technologies, including DSPs, DMPs, 3rd party ad servers, and manual exchanges.
    • Experience as the main point of contact for platform relationships, such as Meta, TikTok, etc.
    • Experience with sourcing and negotiating direct buys and managing direct publisher relationships.
    • Thorough understanding of how different media elements function independently and collectively and how they continuously evolve.
    • Strong analytical skills and experience turning raw data into actionable insights. Ability to use alternative analytical approaches to solve media problems.
    • Experience in diagnosing, isolating, and resolving complex issues and recommending and implementing problem-solving strategies.
    • Comfortable with and experience in audience research.
    • Has led and/or managed a team that can handle personnel issues effectively.
    • Has the ability to think on one’s feet, can speak at length about advertising and digital marketing
    • Highly proficient with Excel (macros and pivot tables).
    • Works well under pressure in a hands-on, startup environment. Has a positive attitude and knows how to balance competing priorities.
    • Experience collaborating with internal and external resources to develop strategies that meet department goals within budget and established timelines.
    • Experience presenting to senior business leaders and/or clients. Can write clearly and concisely and present orally articulately and confidently.
$118,000 - $145,000 a year
Individual pay is determined by many factors, including experience, relevant education or training, and organizational needs. The mid-range to maximum of the salary range is generally reserved for individuals who are highly experienced in the role.
