Director of Business Insights

At Jungle Scout, we are on a mission to build the best Amazon competitive intelligence tools for Amazon sellers and brands.

We’re growing and we are looking to add a passionate Director of Business Insights to our data-driven Business Operations team.

We're looking for a senior leader to drive the evolution of our internal reporting and customer insights engine. As we scale, we need a data-savvy and commercially-minded operator who can enable scalable reporting and data-driven decision making. This person will serve as the connective tissue between our Post-Sales, Product, and Marketing teams - ensuring our data is trusted, accessible, and actionable. You’ll oversee reporting infrastructure, own key performance insights, and guide the team to focus on the metrics that truly drive revenue.  Additionally, you’ll be charged with developing scalable reporting templates to deliver pithy executive insights to our customers.

Location: We’re looking to hire this person anywhere between the PST - EST time zone across the U.S., with a strong preference for candidates based near Chicago.

Performance Objectives:

Primary Objective: Enable scalable business intelligence infrastructure and scalable customer insights.

Key Performance Objectives:

  • Lead the evaluation and improvement of our reporting infrastructure to increase automation, visibility, and usability across the org.
    Own internal commercial reporting end-to-end—ensuring dashboards are real-time, reliable, and reflect the most important business drivers.
  • Collaborate with GTM and Product leaders to enable scalable executive reporting templates for our customers
  • Support strategic customer conversations (e.g., executive QBRs, sales prospects) with relevant data and insights.
  • Manage and develop a team responsible for forecasting, reporting, and insights delivery.

Required Skills & Experience:

Experience:

  • Proven expertise in data science, adept at communicating complex analytical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Strong Background in client-facing advisory roles (consulting experience a big plus).
  • Deep exposure to SaaS, retail, data sales, or consumer insights.
  • Experience in or adjacent to BI, data infrastructure, RevOps, or Sales Ops.
  • Previous experience working closely with Product, Sales, and Marketing teams.
  • People management experience - leading high-performing, cross-functional teams.

Technical Skills:

  • Salesforce expertise.
  • Familiarity with Power BI, Looker, Tableau, or similar tools.
  • Strong Excel and Google Slides skills.
  • Appreciation for how to build reliable and automated reporting flows.

Day in the Life of this role:

  • Partnering with Sales and CS leaders on pipeline forecasting, funnel reporting, and post-sales analytics.
  • Jumping into senior-level customer calls to bring commercial insights into the conversation.
  • Collaborating with Product to model the impact of new features and inform prioritization.
  • Reviewing and refining dashboards with your team, ensuring stakeholders have the data they need.
  • Coaching your team on building scalable reporting systems and storytelling with data.
