About the Role:
Reporting to senior leadership, we are seeking an experienced Director of AI & ML to work alongside product and engineering teams to architect strategic initiatives that embed AI workflows and capabilities into our media performance, analytics and client delivery processes. This role will play a critical part in defining our technical approach, selecting appropriate models and frameworks, leading implementation, and mentoring engineering teams to create transformative AI-driven tools.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and lead the architecture of our AI solutions, ensuring robust, scalable, and maintainable systems.

• Build and oversee a data science team, consisting of ML and data engineers.

• Develop and implement machine learning and NLP models for structured text extraction, insight generation, narrative development, and conversational intelligence.

• Collaborate closely with product management, data engineering, and software development teams to deliver integrated solutions.

• Communication with non-technical stakeholders, providing updates on approaches, progress, and opportunities that create business value for our internal and external stakeholders.

• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to engineering and analytics teams, fostering AI/ML best practices.

• Evaluate, select, and implement appropriate ML/NLP frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face), cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP), embedding models, and vector database solutions (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, Qdrant) to effectively support AI development and deployment.

• Integrate embedding models and vector databases into AI solutions, optimizing for semantic search, similarity retrieval, and recommendation systems.

• Define and implement best practices for embedding-based workflows, including embedding generation, storage, indexing, and retrieval.

• Establish effective MLOps practices to ensure smooth model deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management.

• Continuously improve model accuracy and effectiveness based on user feedback and performance metrics.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 5+ years experience in Machine Learning, NLP, or AI-driven roles, ideally in product-focused environments.

• Deep expertise in NLP techniques (text extraction, summarization, embeddings, LLM fine-tuning).

• Experience with embedding models (e.g., OpenAI, SentenceTransformers, Hugging Face, Vertex AI embeddings) and vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, Qdrant, Chroma).

• Familiarity with semantic search, similarity retrieval techniques, and embedding-based recommendation systems.

• Proven hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face).

• Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with data processing and ETL frameworks.

• Demonstrated experience architecting end-to-end AI/ML systems.

• Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure) and ML infrastructure tools (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines).

• Familiarity with semantic search, similarity retrieval techniques, and embedding-based recommendation systems.

• Excellent technical leadership, mentoring capabilities, and strong communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Exposure to agile methodologies and product-driven development cycles.

• Interest and knowledge of digital media, analytics, and marketing domains.
