Director, Finance

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Director – Finance to oversee our India office’s financial operations. This is a high-impact role responsible for financial reporting, audits, compliance, and budgeting, while providing insightful analysis to drive decision-making and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and passionate about maintaining financial health and integrity across dynamic environments.

What You’ll Do

• Oversee all accounting operations for the India office, ensuring adherence to monthly processes and accounting policies.
• Review monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) to ensure accuracy and compliance with US GAAP and Indian accounting standards.
• Lead quarterly and annual statutory audits for India operations.
• Ensure full compliance with local legal, regulatory, and tax obligations (GST, TDS, corporate income tax, etc.).
• Analyze financial statements to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement in areas such as payroll, FX, fixed assets, revenue, and taxes.
• Spearhead the annual budgeting process and support monthly OPEX accruals and variance analysis.
• Collaborate with regional leads for closing activities and monthly financial reviews.
• Verify accounts payable entries for accuracy and adherence to policy.
• Support and contribute to the annual compensation planning and execution.

What We’re Looking For

• 12+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, IGAAP, and Indian tax frameworks.
• Proven leadership experience with a track record of building and managing high-performing finance teams.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.
• Ability to operate in both large-scale and fast-paced startup environments.
• A proactive, adaptable mindset with a solution-driven approach.
• Qualification: Chartered Accountant, MBA in Finance, or Master’s degree in Finance/Accounting.
