Data Engineer (SQL, Python)

JOB TITLE: Data Engineer

DEPARTMENT: Software Development

REPORTS To: Team Lead / Project Manager

PURPOSE:

The Data Engineer will be responsible for supporting data engineering and cloud-related tasks, ensuring efficient data processing and troubleshooting in production environments. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong problem-solving mindset, a desire to learn, and the ability to work in fast-paced environments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Write and optimize SQL queries for data retrieval and manipulation.
  • Work with transactional databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production data environments.
  • Support data integration, transformation, and storage processes.
  • Assist in cloud data engineering tasks, with AWS experience considered a plus.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and clients to understand data requirements and ensure seamless data workflows.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL query writing and database management.
  • Prior experience working with transactional databases.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with prior experience in client interactions.
