AR Collections Specialist - Fixed Term (6 Months)

Position Summary

The AR Collections Specialist is responsible for the collections of AR from customers. This position is a key member of the Finance team reporting to the Controller. We’re looking for a skilled and passionate individual to join our team to help collect, track, and record payments in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. You will actively work with our customers to help facilitate the payment process, ensuring that our AR balances are kept timely and that our customers are served well.

Position Focus

  • Maintain accounts receivable records to ensure aging is up to date, credits and collections are applied, uncollectible amounts are accounted for, and miscellaneous differences are cleared
  • Perform daily cash management duties, including the recording of bank deposits, updating and distribution of cash receipt logs, and posting of cash to the accounts receivable sub-ledger
  • Process payments from customers through Stripe
  • Monitor and collect accounts receivable by contacting clients via telephone and email
  • Actively forecast cash collections
  • Maintain A/R metrics and KPIs to provide insights into collection health
  • Escalate challenges internally, as appropriate, to find a productive path forward
  • Support other finance team members
  • Collect checks weekly from the Mississauga office.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Competencies for Success

  • 5+ years of experience with collections and interaction with customers and internal contacts
  • Working level experience with NetSuite and NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management
  • Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Background in understanding complex reconciliations and assisting customers with resolution of challenges
  • Experience in a SaaS business is preferred
