Role: Infrastructure Engineer (AWS: ECS/RDS)

Schedule: M-F / 8:00 – 5:00 CST with eventually 2-3 hours buffer/flexibility)

Type of Contract: Full-Time - Independent Contractor

Scope of the role:

Our client is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to lead the development and maintenance of scalable AWS infrastructure. This role is critical to ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of systems supporting healthcare SaaS solutions. The ideal candidate will play a key role in shaping infrastructure strategy while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, secure, and cost-effective solutions.

Requirements

  • C1 English level, with excellent verbal and written communication skills (Must Have)
  • 5+ Years of experience as Infraestructure Engineer or similar roles. (Must Have)
  • Technical Expertise: Proven hands-on experience with AWS ECS, RDS, and a broad suite of AWS services.
  • Containerization and CI/CD: Strong knowledge of Docker, container orchestration, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Infrastructure-as-Code Proficiency: Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools.
  • Security and Compliance Awareness: Familiarity with HIPAA/HITRUST compliance and secure system practices is a plus.
  • Healthcare Interest: A genuine passion for contributing to healthcare-related solutions and improving patient outcomes.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: A proactive mindset with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect and Manage AWS Infrastructure: Design, optimize, and manage AWS services, with a focus on ECS, RDS, and other associated services such as EC2, VPC, S3, CloudWatch, and IAM.
  • Build for Scalability: Develop infrastructure that supports growth, ensuring it is robust, secure, and cost-efficient.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with Tech Leads, DevOps, and Security teams to design and implement scalable, compliant, and efficient solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and Resolve Issues: Diagnose and resolve performance challenges, proactively anticipating and addressing potential problems.
  • Enhance Automation: Utilize infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) to streamline deployments and maintain consistency.
